Best Shopping Malls In Zurich (Small To Epic) - SwitzerLanding (2024)

Zurich, Switzerland has quite a few shopping malls. You just need to know where to look.

Some of them are more recent additions to the shopping scene, others are tried and true shopping malls that have been around for decades. Of course, some people prefer to shop on Zurich’s shopping streets downtown. but if you want everything in one place, malls are the way to go.

Getting There: Trams 5, 17, 13 to Sihlcity Nord, Train S4 to Zürich Saalsporthalle, Trollybus 72

Parking: On site parking

Parking Price: Very expensive in my opinion. Starts at 3.5 CHF for the first hour, 2 hours 4.5 CHF, 3 hours 6 CHF

Website: Sihlcity

Sihl City is probably the biggest and most accessible shopping mall in the Zurich downtown area. It is only 10-15 minutes tram from Zurich HB and most places downtown.

The selection of 75 shops is the second largest in Zurich, and they also have a cinema and 14 restaurants. If you need a greater range, I suggest Glatt, although it is a little harder to reach from central Zurich.

Glatt

Best Shopping Malls In Zurich (Small To Epic) - SwitzerLanding (3)

Address: Neue Winterthurerstrasse 99, 8304 Wallisellen, Switzerland (Google Maps)

Opening Hours: 9am – 8pm daily (Except Sundays)

Getting There: Various train/bus/tram options but the simplest from HB is S9 or S14 to Wallisellen station then walk 7 minutes to the mall

Parking: On site parking

Parking Price: free for max 4 hours

Website: Glatt

Glatt, or Glatt Zentrum as I know it, is another popular shopping mall in outer Zurich. It is located in Wallisellen, towards the airport. So, is not the most convenient for anyone living in the center or further down the lake. It does however have a good selection of over 100 shops and is also close to other large shops like Ikea, and Mediamarkt so you can do a lot of shopping in one hit, especially if you come by car.

Zurich Main Station ShopVille

Best Shopping Malls In Zurich (Small To Epic) - SwitzerLanding (4)

ShopVille is all of the shops at Zurich main station, which are mostly located in the underground section of the train station. And, because train stations and airports have a special status in swiss law, it is also open on Sundays! So, it has always had a special place in the local Zurich people’s hearts.

Although it is not a traditional shopping mall, there is a reasonable selection of shops. However, because they are a little scattered throughout the underground area you just need to find them! And, like most places in Switzerland, you will find the staff in the shops usually speak English too.

Address: Zurich HB (Google Maps)

Opening Hours: From early until late (could not find exact times on their website!)

Getting There: It is located right under Zurich HB where the S-Bahns are

Parking: Limited

Website: SBB ShopVille

Europaallee

Best Shopping Malls In Zurich (Small To Epic) - SwitzerLanding (5)

Europaallee is a more recent addition to the Zurich shopping scene. It is a revitalized area where huge post buildings used to stand on the side of Zurich HB main station. It is very easy to reach, however, its weakness for shoppers is the limited options there. For me, it is more a place to go for a drink or bite to eat than shop. However it does have some shops like Transa, Ochsner Sport, and Starbucks, and outside there are also some smaller, more boutique shops available.

Address: Neue Winterthurerstrasse 99, 8304 Wallisellen, Switzerland (Google Maps)

Opening Hours: 11 am – 7 pm Monday – Friday, 10 am – 6 pm Saturdays

Getting There: It is located right on Zurich HB

Parking: Limited

Shoppi Tivoli, Spreitenbach AG

Best Shopping Malls In Zurich (Small To Epic) - SwitzerLanding (6)

Although technically not in Zurich itself, it is close enough to the canton border, and the city itself to be worth mentioning. Shoppi Tivoli is actually one of the biggest shopping malls in Switzerland, so if you are closer to this side of Zurich (North-West) then it is the place to go. There are also lots of bigger shops around the mall like Ikea, and they have extended a tram line down here recently so it is now a lot easier to reach.

Address: Shopping Center, 8957 Spreitenbach, Switzerland (Google Maps)

Opening Hours: 9 am – 8 pm Monday – Saturday

Getting There: It is right by the A1 from Zurich to Basel, and public transport is also not too bad

Parking: Lots, free for the first hour

Website: Shoppi Tivoli

Zürisee Center Wädenswil

A very small shopping mall, but handy nonetheless if you live in the Wädenswil area. It is owned by Migros, so all the shops here are Migros owned in some way. This includes Migros Garden Do It, Qualipet, Micasa and so on.

Address: Rütistrasse 1, 8820 Wädenswil, Switzerland (Google Maps)

Opening Hours: 9 am – 7 pm Monday – Saturday

Getting There: It is right by the A3 from Zurich to Chur, and public transport is also not too bad

Parking: 128 spaces, First hour 1CHF, Two hours 2 CHF, three hours 2.5 CHF

Seedamm Mall

Although the Seedamm Mall is technically in canton Schwyz, it might suit many of you who live further down lake Zurich, or even closer to Rapperswil-Jona. This shopping mall is a lot more serious than the nearby Zurisee Center with 48 shops and over 20,000m2 floor space.

There is a Coop, Migros, Express Denner and lots of clothing stores, hair dressers, restaurants, chocolate shops, electronics and more.

Address: Gwattstrasse 11, 8808 Pfäffikon, Switzerland (Google Maps)

Opening Hours: 9 am – 9 pm Monday – Thursday, Friday 9am – 11 pm, Saturday 8am – 6pm
