CD Projekt RED released Cyberpunk 2077 Update 1.5 along with some free DLCs. Learn how to access and use V’s new Night City apartments!
Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.5 was released on February 16th, 2022. It is the biggest and most interesting patch for the game to date. It is available for all platforms. On Consoles, this update brings the long-awaited and twice-delayed NextGen Update.
Along with the patch CD Projekt RED released a few new free DLCs. One of them allows you to renovate your own apartment in Megabuilding H10. You can also rent four new apartments, located in different districts of Night City.
Each one of these new apartments requires a single-purchase to get access to, despite the fact that they called it “rent”.
How to access V’s new Apartments in Night City
The main requirement is to have your game updated to Patch 1.5. Other than this, you need to have met with Takemura.
The name of the quest you need to complete is “Playing for Time”. This means you need to do a bit of progress on your main story before you can access your apartments. There is no way you would miss this one as it’s automatically given to you as part of the main story of Cyberpunk 2077.
The DLCs are integrated with Patch 1.5. No additional download is required on your part. You can check what additional content you have installed by opening the “Additional Content” tab from the main menu of the game.
In there at the very top in Patch 1.5 (it may be further below if you check this at a later date when more DLCs may be available), you will see this:
As soon as you log into the game, you will see a new tab in the Journal called “Apartments”. You can browse these new optional missions’ descriptions there.
The easiest way to get access to the rent the new apartments is to browse the Net through V’s computer in their original apartment in the Megabuilding. Sith down on the desk next to the entrance door.
Click on the Net Tab at the top right.
Then navigate to the final thumbnail at the bottom, where it says “EZEstates”.
What is the “Makeovers” Apartment Feature
In Cyberpunk 2077 patch 1.5 you can renovate your original apartment in Megabuilding H10. There are six renovations available. Each one costs 10 000 Eddies.
- Coronado Twilight
- Lunar Tranquility
- California Max
- Neon Sands
- Flamingo City
- Sowbread Tiger
These “makeovers” are nothing but repaint jobs with slightly different color variations on floor tilings and walls. Each makeover costs Eddies, of course.
As soon as you click on the button to purchase a makeover, it changes your apartment immediately.
What is the “For Rent” Apartment Feature
The four additional apartments you can rent in Night City are as follows:
- Northside – costs 5 000 Eddies
- Japantown – costs 15 000 Eddies
- Corpo Plaza – costs 55 000 Eddies
- Glen – costs 40 000 Eddies
Each one of the apartments will be marked on your map after you rent them. They all have unique interior designs and play features inside. You can watch TV, drink tea or alcohol, smoke, listen to music and more.
While you still have the missions active and have not yet rented the apartments, these four locations will be marked with a green icon for a side-job (optional quest).
All apartments have shared access to your Storage. Also each of them has a wall in the storage room where you can display the exclusive guns you have acquired.
Below I have a few images to show you what each apartment looks like. The one in Glen is kind of a penthouse type with a second floor above the living room area. The one in Northside is the cheapest, but it’s also the easiest one to access as it’s on the ground level. The downside is that the quick travel points are literally next to the entrances of the buildings for the other three apartments, while the quick travel point for the Northside one is a bit further away.
How to get additional Bonuses from your Apartments
If you have played The Witcher 3, these will be familiar features to you. They are now available in Cyberpunk 2077 as well.
If you sleep in your bed in any of your apartments, you will wake up with an hour-long Rested Buff. If you take a shower in any of your apartments, you will receive a “Refreshed” Bugg. If you make and drink some coffee, you will get the “Energized” buff. Here’s what they do:
- Refreshed: Allows you to regenerate Health during combat. If you possess the Regeneratoin Perk, during combat this increases Health rate by 20% and your Health regen threshold by 20%
- Rested: Gain +20% Skill XP.
- Energized: +25% Max Stamina, +30% Stamina Regen.”
While you play, you will see the square blue icons to the right of your HP bar. If you open up the Weapons Wheel, you will also see an expanded description of these buffs, like in the image above.
The timer ticks only with in-game time. It will not expire if you are not playing Cyberpunk 2077.
Thoughts on V’s new apartments and their features
I’ll throw in here a few thoughts that I have been collecting and refining after my first few hours with the new patch 1.5.
The new apartment Makeover is a total waste of money for me personally. I do enjoy immersing myself in Night City, but not to that level to spend 10 000 Eddies to do a makeover.
The additional apartments you rent are a nice role-playing feature, but with the ability to travel quickly around Night City, they are more of a role-playing luxury purchase rather than a necessity.
The unique decorations and interiors in each apartment, combined with the play features you can perform there are fun to test once.
It was fun to watch the streets of Night City until I noticed the NPCs despawning in the distance…
It is way too expensive to rent these as you level up. There are far more valuable things to spend your eddies on.

After you have cleared Night City, earned as much money as you can, then it is no problem to get them, but you will not need them at all by that time. Except to sit on the sofa and watch some show or news on Channel 54.
The new Rested and XP Buffs are fantastic. They could have come a bit earlier as now I am fully maxed on several playthroughs that I did already. But, who knows, maybe I still have it in me to do a fresh new playthrough later this year. I am certainly going to play the expansion(s) when they are released, but we still haven’t heard much on that front. And I have three finished and ready characters who sit and wait for the new content to play through.
Did you know that since patch 1.5 you can now Customize V’s appearance while in your apartment? The number of options are limited to what some would call “reasonable” and “realistic” options. This means that you will not be able to change the physical appearance of your body, for example. I am not sure it’s “realistic”, because nothing is impossible in the Cyberpunk universe. Especially in the year 2077!
Overall Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.5 brings a ton of great new features and improvements, but it still doesn’t deliver on additional real content. The DLCs feel more like money-sinks and the apartments specifically are not an integral part of the gameplay. They do help immerse you into the life of V from Night City.
